Skyline Group Campground offers an extended family or large group camping experience in the pine-covered San Bernardino Mountains at 6,880 feet elevation. The single large group site can accommodate up to 25 people and approximately 9 vehicles, with paved roads and parking area. The site is equipped with multiple picnic tables, a group fire ring with pedestal grill, vault toilets, and potable water. Located at the back of the Heart Bar Campground complex off Forest Route 1N02, Skyline provides a more secluded atmosphere while remaining accessible to nearby amenities. The campground sits roughly 20 miles from Big Bear Lake but retains a remote mountain feel. Trash service is not provided; campers must pack out all refuse. The area offers abundant recreational opportunities including hiking access to the San Gorgonio Wilderness via trails such as the Santa Ana River Trail, Wildhorse Creek Trail, and Aspen Grove Trail. Creek fishing, mountain biking, horseback riding, and wildlife viewing are popular activities. Firewood is available for purchase at the nearby Heart Bar Family Campground.

Directions

From San Bernardino, take I-10 to the Alabama exit in Redlands. Turn onto Lugonia Avenue (Highway 38) and head northeast for approximately 31 miles. Turn right onto Forest Route 1N02 and continue to Heart Bar Campground; Skyline is located at the back of the complex.
