About

South Fork Campground sits at 6,400 feet elevation in a peaceful pine and fir forest setting near the Santa Ana River. The campground features 28 individual sites, each accommodating up to 8 people with a single picnic table. The location along Highway 38 provides convenient access between Angelus Oaks and Big Bear Lake. The campground operates strictly on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations accepted. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers up to 30 feet. Pets are permitted but must be kept on a leash no longer than six feet or under physical restrictive control at all times. Nearby recreation includes the South Fork Trail system for hiking. The Mountaintop Ranger District manages the area and can provide current conditions and fire restriction information.

Directions

From Big Bear Discovery Center, take Highway 38 toward Redlands for approximately 23 miles. The campground is located along Highway 38 between Angelus Oaks and Big Bear Lake, near the Santa Ana River.
