About

Skyline Group Campground is located in San Bernardino National Forest at an elevation of 6,880 feet, nestled among pine-covered mountains approximately 20 miles from Big Bear Lake. The campground offers a single, large-group site designed for extended family or large group camping experiences, accommodating up to 25 people and about 9 vehicles on paved roads and parking areas. The surrounding area provides abundant opportunities for backcountry recreation. The famed Santa Ana River Trail offers miles of scenic mountain views and exploration points. The Wildhorse Creek Trail explores 5 miles of rolling terrain north of the campground, leading to a remote camping area south of Wildhorse Meadow while climbing 1,100 feet in elevation. The serene Aspen Grove Trail, adjacent to Fish Creek, leads to a small remnant grove of quaking aspen that displays beautiful golden colors in the fall. Creek fishing is available in nearby mountain streams. A variety of hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails can be accessed from the area, with wilderness permits required for some trails.
