About

Wildhorse Campground is a primitive forest campground located in the Lost River Range area of Idaho's Salmon-Challis National Forest. The 13 sites are situated in a heavily wooded setting, providing shade and seclusion for tent campers and small RVs. The campground serves as a base for exploring the surrounding backcountry, with Boulder Creek Lake, Waterfall Trail, and the head of Wildhorse Canyon all accessible from the area. The nearby Wildhorse Guard Station and numerous trails make this a good staging area for hikers and horseback riders. Facilities are basic: two accessible vault toilets and two hand-pumps that operate during summer months. The campground is first-come, first-served and accepts cash or check payment only. Senior Pass and Access Pass holders receive a 50% discount on the nightly fee.
