Whitewater State Park Group Campgrounds

Open — Open year-round on a first-come, first-served basis. During winter, running water is shut off and only vault toilets are available.

About

Located in the heart of southeastern Minnesota's blufflands, Whitewater State Park Group Campgrounds offer three redesigned group camping sites with picnic shelters. The 2,700-acre park features dramatic 200-foot limestone bluffs, deep ravines, and the spring-fed Whitewater River and Trout Run Creek, which provide exceptional brown, brook, and rainbow trout fishing. The group campgrounds are part of a larger camping area that includes the modern Minneiska Campground, developed in 2017. Group campers have access to the park's extensive trail system, sandy swimming beach (open May through Labor Day), and year-round visitor center. The park is home to nearly 50 species of mammals and 250 species of birds throughout the year. Whitewater State Park maintains year-round access with winter activities including cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. The park's group camping facilities provide an ideal basecamp for organized groups seeking to explore southeastern Minnesota's unique bluffland ecosystem and diverse recreational opportunities.
