Open — Open year-round with reservations available up to 120 days in advance. Seasonal restrooms and showers operate during warmer months, while primitive toilets remain available year-round.

About

Whitewater State Park Camper Cabins provide comfortable year-round lodging in southeastern Minnesota's scenic blufflands. Each rustic 12x16 foot cabin features wooden bunkbeds with mattresses, a table and benches, heat, electricity, and a screened porch. The cabins accommodate up to six people and include an outdoor picnic table and fire ring with grate for cooking. No indoor plumbing is provided, but seasonal restrooms with showers and drinking water are available nearby in the campground, with primitive toilets accessible year-round. The park encompasses 2,700 acres of picturesque limestone bluffs and deep ravines surrounding the spring-fed Whitewater River and Trout Run Creek. Anglers can fish for brown, brook, and rainbow trout year-round. Visitors enjoy hiking trails to scenic overlooks, a sandy swimming beach, and abundant wildlife viewing opportunities. The park is known for its relative absence of mosquitoes compared to other Minnesota parks. Established in 1919 to protect the Whitewater River Valley after devastating floods, the park now offers a restored natural landscape with diverse bird habitats and 200-foot dolomite cliffs covered in pine.
