Gooseberry Glen Cart-in Campground
Open for the season. The campground operates April 15 through December 1. Reservations available up to 120 days in advance via the Minnesota DNR reservation system.
About
Tucked into a quiet corner of Whitewater State Park, Gooseberry Glen Cart-in Campground provides a more secluded alternative to the main Minneiska Campground. The 6 cart-in sites require a short walk of less than half a mile from the parking area, where large push carts are available to help transport camping gear. Each site is equipped with a fire ring, picnic table, and tent pad. Campers have access to vault toilets and water near the sites. The campground sits along the Whitewater River beneath dramatic limestone bluffs, offering excellent access to trout fishing in the spring-fed waters that hold brown, brook, and rainbow trout. Whitewater State Park features over 10 miles of hiking trails ranging from easy riverside walks to challenging bluff climbs. A sandy swimming beach, visitor center, and amphitheater are available in the main park area. Hot showers and a dump station are located at the Minneiska Campground nearby.
