Carley State Park Group Campground is located in southeastern Minnesota's Wabasha County, approximately 15 miles northeast of Rochester. The park sits in the unique transition zone between the hardwood forests of Minnesota's southeastern blufflands and its southern oak barrens. The group campground offers two separate group sites that can accommodate 15 and 20 people respectively, providing an intimate camping experience surrounded by mature trees. The park features five miles of hiking trails, with two miles available for cross-country skiing in winter. The north branch of the Whitewater River runs through the park and is a designated trout stream supporting brown and rainbow trout populations. In spring, the forest floor comes alive with Virginia bluebells and other wildflowers, creating a spectacular natural display. The park also contains an unusual stand of white pines for this region of Minnesota. Facilities are rustic with no park staff on-site. Amenities include a picnic shelter, picnic tables, playground, and vault toilets. The park is managed by Whitewater State Park staff. Winter activities include snowshoeing throughout the park and cross-country skiing on designated trails. The park offers a quiet escape for groups seeking a peaceful natural setting.
