White Wolf Campground

Closed — Closed for winter. Typically opens mid-July and closes mid to late September, depending on Tioga Road opening and seasonal facility work. Reservations released two weeks in advance on a rolling daily window at 7 am Pacific time via Recreation.gov.

Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening.

White Wolf Campground is located off Tioga Road between Tuolumne Meadows and Crane Flat, approximately one hour from Yosemite Valley at 8,000 feet elevation. The campground is set in forest approximately one mile north of Tioga Road near the White Wolf Lodge area. With 74 reservable sites, the campground accommodates tents, RVs up to 27 feet, and trailers up to 24 feet, though not every site can accommodate equipment of maximum length. The area offers excellent access to wilderness destinations and day hikes. Trailheads near the campground lead to Lukens Lake and Harden Lake, and the area serves as a popular jumping-off point for backpackers heading into the Yosemite wilderness. The Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne is accessible from trails beginning near the campground. Tuolumne Meadows lies 25 miles east, while the Crane Flat area 23 miles west offers access to the Tuolumne and Merced Groves of Giant Sequoias.

White Wolf Campground is located off Tioga Road 24 miles west from Tioga Pass. From Yosemite Valley, take Big Oak Flat Road and Tioga Road 31 miles (approximately 1 hour). From Highway 120 west/Big Oak Flat Road, take Tioga Road 31 miles (35 minutes). The campground is approximately one mile north of Tioga Road.
