About

North Pines Campground is located along the Merced River in Yosemite Valley at 4,000 feet elevation, surrounded by California black oak, Ponderosa pine, Incense-cedar, White fir, and Whiteleaf Manzanita. The campground offers a pleasant combination of sun and shade with views of Yosemite's granite cliff faces through the trees. All 81 sites are reservable and can accommodate tents, RVs up to 40 feet, and trailers up to 35 feet, though not every site can accommodate equipment of maximum length. The campground is situated in the heart of Yosemite Valley within walking and biking distance of trailheads, including the easy two-mile roundtrip to Mirror Lake/Meadow and the strenuous 14-16 mile trek to Half Dome. Food and grocery services are nearby at Curry Village and Yosemite Village. The campground is located on the free Yosemite Valley shuttle route. Five sites (111, 113, 119, 125, and 129) are ADA accessible with wheelchair-accessible picnic tables and nearby restrooms. Reservations are available through an early access lottery system, with remaining availability released up to five months in advance on the 15th of each month at 7:00 a.m. Pacific time. Campsites typically sell out within minutes during peak season. Each site accommodates up to six people and two vehicles, with all vehicles required to park on designated pads. Wood fires are permitted year-round but restricted to 5 pm-10 pm from May through September. Charcoal fires are allowed at any time.
