About

White River Falls Campground sits along the White River approximately 11 miles north of Lake Wenatchee in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. This primitive campground offers 11 free campsites in a secluded forest setting near a waterfall. The campground provides basic amenities including picnic tables and vault toilets, but campers must bring their own water and pack out all trash as no services are provided. The campground is located at 2,200 feet elevation and provides access to the White River Trail, with the trailhead just one mile up the road. The area is popular for day hiking, backpacking, and picnicking. Due to the campground's remote location and narrow access road, it is not suitable for trailers as there is no turnaround space. Visitors should exercise caution around the waterfall area as rocks near the river are particularly slippery. Access is via White River Road (Forest Road 6400), which is typically closed in winter due to snow. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations accepted. This makes it one of three free camping options along the White River and the most secluded of the group.
