An Air Quality Alert has been issued by the following agencies: Washington Department of Ecology An Air Quality Alert has been issued for Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan Counties until further notice due to current and expected smoke from regional fires. Particulate matter (PM2.5) may reach Unhealthy levels for areas downwind from active wildfires. Be sure to check air monitors in your area before outdoor activities. When air quality is Unhealthy, everyone should reduce exposure. Limit time outside, avoid strenuous outdoor activity, and follow tips for cleaner indoor air.

Grasshopper Meadows Campground sits at 2,000 feet elevation along the scenic White River, approximately 10 miles from Lake Wenatchee in Washington's Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. The campground provides direct river access for fishing and relaxation in a forested mountain setting. This is a basic, no-fee campground with minimal amenities. Vault toilets are available, but there is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. The site sees light usage, making it a good option for those seeking solitude. Trailers are permitted up to 30 feet in length. Access is via White River Road (Forest Road 6400), which can be subject to seasonal closures due to snow and road conditions in early season. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservation system.

Directions

From Leavenworth, travel southwest on US-2 West for 15 miles. Turn right onto WA-207 North and go 10.5 miles. Turn right onto White River Road and go 6.3 miles. Take a slight left onto White River Road/Forest Road 6400. The campground is about 2 miles down the road on the right.
