About
Grasshopper Meadows Campground sits along the White River in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, about 10 miles north of Lake Wenatchee at 2,000 feet elevation. This primitive, no-fee campground provides a secluded riverside camping experience with access to the White River for fishing and picnicking. The campground is one of three free camping areas along the White River corridor. The setting offers views of surrounding ridges and forested landscapes typical of the eastern Cascade slopes. Access is via White River Road/Forest Road 6400, with the campground located approximately 2 miles past the turnoff from White River Road. The campground sees light use compared to more developed facilities in the area. Facilities are basic, with vault toilets provided but no potable water available. Campers must bring their own water supply. The campground can accommodate trailers up to 30 feet maximum length. Sites typically include fire pits and tables. The remote location and lack of fees make this an attractive option for campers seeking a quiet, primitive experience along the White River.
