About

White Oak Boat-In Campground is one of two boat-in campgrounds on Laurel River Lake, located within the London Ranger District of Daniel Boone National Forest. The 39 first-come, first-served campsites are situated along the lakeshore, most positioned near the water's edge with dedicated boat moorings. Sites are wooded and spaced far enough apart to provide a genuine sense of seclusion rarely found at drive-in campgrounds. Access requires either a boat launch from Marsh Branch Boat Ramp followed by approximately one mile of lake travel southward, or a 3-mile hike on Cold Rock School Trail #430 which begins near the boat ramp. Each campsite includes a tent pad, picnic table, fire ring, and lantern pole. Vault toilets meeting accessibility standards and potable water from faucets are available. The campground operates seasonally from late April through late September. All sites are first-come, first-served with no reservations accepted. Payment is by cash or check only using the fee envelope system. Interagency Senior and Access pass holders receive a 50% discount on single sites.

Directions

From I-75 take exit 38 (London) and travel west on KY 192 for 12 miles. Turn left (south) on Forest Service Road 774. Go 2 miles to the Marsh Branch Boat Ramp. Boaters travel approximately one mile south to the campground. Alternatively, hike the 3-mile Cold Rock School Trail #430 from near the boat ramp.
