About

Craigs Creek Group Area is a group camping destination on Laurel River Lake within Daniel Boone National Forest in the Appalachian foothills of Kentucky. The campground sits where Craig's Creek flows into an arm of the lake, across from Holly Bay Campground. Three group tent camping sites are available: Sites A and B accommodate up to 30 guests with 6 vehicles, while Site C accommodates up to 60 guests with 8 vehicles. A separate day-use picnic shelter serves groups of up to 60. Each group camp area features a campfire circle, large grill, picnic tables, and lantern pole. The campground has accessible flush toilets and a shower house. Potable water is available from faucets. The sites are tent camping only with no electricity. Recreation includes the half-mile Craigs Creek Trail connecting the group area to the boat ramp with scenic lake views. A spacious sports field with volleyball net and horseshoe pits sits near the picnic shelter. Fishing for crappie, catfish, and bass is popular on the lake.
