About
White Cedar Horse Camp is an equestrian-focused campground established in 2006 on top of Flat Top Mountain in the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests. Built specifically for horse camping, every site features a metal pipe corral and ample shade. The campground offers single sites (one horse trailer) and double sites (two horse trailers). The primary attraction is the direct trail access from camp to the Flat Top Trailhead, which connects to a 20-mile network of intersecting trails offering varied lengths and difficulty levels. Vault toilets are available on site. Virginia law requires all horses used for recreational purposes to have a current negative Coggins test certificate. The campground operates seasonally from May 1 through November 1. Sites are available by contacting the Eastern Divide Ranger District. Dogs are permitted but must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet.
