Wheatland Park
Open for reservations through Recreation.gov. All sites are now reservable (no longer first-come, first-served). Off-season camping available March 15 through April 15 and October 1 through November 30. Maximum stay is 14 consecutive days. Credit and debit cards only; cash and checks are not accepted.

About
Wheatland Park is situated on the sparkling shores of Pomme de Terre Lake in the west-central Missouri Ozarks. The lake spans 7,790 surface acres with 113 miles of shoreline, surrounded by rugged, tree-topped hills. The name "Pomme de Terre" is French for potato or "apple of the earth," likely given by early French trappers who discovered potato-like plants along the riverbanks. The campground features 41 sites: 35 with both electric and water hookups, and 6 with electric only. Electric service includes both 30 and 50 amp options. Amenities include two shower houses, a boat ramp with courtesy dock, playground, swim beach, and an accessible group picnic shelter accommodating up to 75 guests. Pomme de Terre Lake is renowned among anglers for largemouth bass, crappie, and white bass, but the stocked muskie fishing draws particular interest as muskie are rare to the region. The lake's numerous coves provide secluded fishing spots away from water skiing activity elsewhere on the lake.
Directions
From Springfield, MO, take Highway 13 North to Bolivar, MO, then travel on Highway 83 northeast past Elkton, MO to Highway 254. Follow Highway 254 East to The Triangle and take CR205 South. Follow signs to park.
