Pittsburg Campground is part of Pomme de Terre State Park, situated on the shores of Pomme de Terre Lake in Hickory County. The campground features 127 sites spread across four loops, offering electric and water hookups with options for 50-amp service. Two of the four loops operate seasonally from March through November, while the other loops remain accessible year-round. The Pittsburg area serves as a hub for water-based recreation with a full-service marina offering boat rentals, a boat ramp, and a swimming beach. Pomme de Terre Lake is the only lake in Missouri offering true muskellunge fishing, along with bass, walleye, catfish, and crappie. The marina store sells camping supplies and houses the park restaurant. Hiking trails provide opportunities to explore the surrounding landscape. The campground features modern amenities including a dump station and showerhouse, though these facilities are turned off during the off-season from November through March. A frost-free water spigot remains available near the campground entrance during winter months. Sites are fully reservable up to 12 months in advance through the Missouri State Parks reservation system, with some sites potentially available for walk-up registration if not reserved.

Directions

From the junction of US 54 and Highway 254, go 5 miles south on Highway 64B to reach the Pittsburg side of Pomme de Terre State Park.
