Pittsburg Campground

Pittsburg Campground is located on the western shore of Pomme de Terre Lake, a 7,800-acre reservoir created in the early 1960s. The campground is part of Pomme de Terre State Park and offers a variety of site types including basic, electric (with 50-amp service at select locations), and electric/water hookups. Modern amenities include restrooms, hot showers, laundry facilities, and a dump station, though water systems, showers, and the dump station are turned off during the off-season from November through March. A frost-free spigot near the campground entrance provides water access year-round. The Pittsburg area features a full-service marina with boat rentals and ramps, a swimming beach, park store selling camping supplies, playground, amphitheater, and access to scenic hiking trails. Fishing opportunities include bass, walleye, catfish, crappie, and rare muskellunge. Naturalist-led programs are offered during summer months. Reservations can be made up to 12 months in advance through the online reservation system or by calling 877-ICampMO. Loops 100 and 200 remain open year-round while Loops 300 and 400 operate seasonally from March through November. Pets are allowed with a maximum of two dogs per site, must be supervised, and kept on leashes no longer than 10 feet.
