About

Hermitage Campground is one of two camping areas within Pomme de Terre State Park, located on the Hermitage side of the 7,800-acre Pomme de Terre Lake. The campground offers a variety of site types including basic, electric, and electric/water campsites, each featuring a parking pad, picnic table, grill, and lantern post. Modern comfort stations provide flush toilets and hot showers during the warmer months, with vault toilets also available. Additional conveniences include laundry facilities and an RV dump station. The Hermitage area is particularly appealing for its large swimming beach and direct lake access via the campground boat ramp, which operates March through November. A campground store stocks snacks, drinks, camping and beach supplies, firewood, ice, and hand-dipped ice cream. Recreational opportunities abound with excellent fishing for bass, walleye, catfish, crappie, and muskie, plus hiking trails and a playground for families. Reservations can be made through Missouri State Parks' online system at icampmo1.usedirect.com or by calling 877-ICampMO (877-422-6766). Sites can be reserved up to 12 months in advance. Camping is limited to 15 days within any 30-consecutive-day period.
