Wetmore Campground is one of three Wallowa-Whitman National Forest campgrounds along Highway 26, part of the Journey Through Time Scenic Byway. Located 9 miles west of Unity, Oregon, this quiet campground sees light use and provides a convenient overnight stop for travelers heading toward Prairie City and John Day. The campground offers 11 sites suitable for tents and small trailers, each equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and parking space. Three sites are designated as ADA accessible. An accessible, barrier-free trail connects Wetmore to the adjacent Yellow Pine Campground. Large picnic tables near the upper spring area accommodate group gatherings. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis when not reserved. Quiet hours are enforced from 10pm to 6am.

Directions

From Unity, Oregon head west on Highway 26 for 9 miles towards Prairie City and John Day. The campground entrance is on the right side of the highway.
