About
Lewis and Clark State Park Campground sits on the southeast shore of Lewis and Clark Lake in Buchanan County, Missouri, near the small town of Rushville. The 70-site campground provides a mix of basic and electric sites with 30-amp and 50-amp hookups, shaded by large cottonwood and sycamore trees. Each site includes a picnic table and barbecue grill. Modern amenities include restrooms with hot showers, laundry facilities, a dump station, and playground equipment. The campground operates year-round, though shower and water services run from April 15 through October 31. During the off-season, a frost-free spigot remains available at the dump station. Currently, only sites 34 through 63 are open due to ongoing repairs and upgrades to other portions of the campground. The park offers 1.3 miles of hiking trails and a historic stone shelter built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. Note that the lake is currently dry due to prolonged drought conditions, so no water activities are available.
