About

Tishomingo State Park sits in the rugged foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in northeast Mississippi, one of the most geologically distinctive landscapes in the state. The campground wraps around Haynes Lake, with sites tucked among hardwood forests and dramatic rock outcroppings. The 62 developed RV sites accommodate rigs up to 40 feet; sites 1-37 offer water and 30-amp electric, while premium sites 38-62 add sewer hookups and 50/30/20-amp service. All developed sites are back-in. Primitive camping is available at 15 walk-in tent sites near the main campground, providing quieter surroundings while still allowing access to the showerhouses. Each primitive site includes a fire ring, picnic table, and grill. Two showerhouses serve the campground with flush toilets, hot showers, and the larger facility includes coin-operated laundry machines. A dump station is located behind the park chapel. The park offers Bear Creek float trips, rock climbing on natural sandstone outcroppings, three disc golf courses, and miles of hiking trails that cross a swinging pedestrian bridge. An outdoor swimming pool operates in late spring and summer. The Natchez Trace Parkway passes directly through at Milepost 304, making Tishomingo an ideal basecamp for exploring the historic route.
