Weeping Rock Campground

Closed — Closed for winter. Typically operates May through September or October. First-come, first-served with no reservations.

About

Located along the scenic Green River below Fontenelle Dam, Weeping Rock Campground is a free BLM-managed campground offering 10 riverside campsites. The campground is a favorite among fishermen, with excellent access to the Green River where trout and kokanee salmon thrive. The area's restriction on motorboats helps maintain quality fishing conditions and a peaceful atmosphere. Each campsite includes a picnic table and barbecue grill, with vault toilets available on-site. The campground provides easy boat launch access to the river, making it ideal for both shore fishing and float trips. The area is also home to historic resources, and visitors are asked to respect and preserve these cultural treasures. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservation system. Sites are relatively level and offer some shade, with springs along the rocks where water seeps out. The location is convenient for exploring the Fontenelle Reservoir area while providing a more intimate camping experience than larger developed campgrounds.
