About

Middle Piney Lake Picnic Site is a no-fee day-use area situated on the shores of Middle Piney Lake in the Wyoming Range of the Bridger-Teton National Forest. The site offers excellent fishing opportunities and scenic mountain views. A boat ramp provides lake access, though Wyoming Game and Fish regulations restrict watercraft to non-motorized and electric-powered boats only. The picnic site serves as the trailhead for the Wyoming Range National Recreation Trail and provides access to Wyoming Peak. Visitors can also reach the North Piney Lake ATV trail to the north and the historic Lander Cutoff of the Oregon Trail to the south. A vault toilet is available, but there are no trash services or potable water. All visitors must pack out their trash. This is strictly a day-use facility. Overnight camping is not permitted at this location. The access road is not suitable for large trailers, though small boat trailers can navigate the route. The area is accessible by snowmobile during winter months.
