About
Hams Fork Campground is situated at 8,000 feet elevation along the Big Spring Scenic Backway, 38 miles north of Kemmerer on Forest Road 10062. The campground sits adjacent to Little White Creek near the willow-bottomed Hams Fork River, offering excellent moose-viewing opportunities and access to quality trout fishing. With 13 sites nestled in the southern Kemmerer Ranger District, the campground serves as an ideal base camp for exploring the region's hiking trails, scenic drives up Hobble Creek, and picnicking at nearby Big Spring. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Each site accommodates up to two vehicles and includes a picnic table and fire ring. The facility features two vault toilets and trash service during the operating season. The last 26 miles of access is via gravel road, making this a more remote destination suited for campers seeking a quieter Forest Service experience in the Wyoming backcountry.
