About

Slate Creek Campground is a free primitive camping area managed by the BLM Kemmerer Field Office in partnership with the Bureau of Reclamation. Located on the west side of the Green River approximately four miles south of Fontenelle Reservoir, this quiet site provides a launching point for outdoor recreation in southwestern Wyoming. The area is renowned for birdwatching, situated just north of Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge, which hosts diverse waterfowl and migratory species along the Green River corridor. Anglers will find good fishing access to the Green River directly from the campground. The site also contains historic resources that visitors are asked to leave undisturbed. Facilities are basic: designated camping sites, two ADA-accessible vault toilets, and picnic areas. There is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. The campground is free and operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations accepted.
