This is a day-use picnic shelter, not a campground. Overnight stays are not permitted. Operating hours are 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and use of the shelter must conclude by 10:00 p.m. The shelter can be reserved through Recreation.gov or used first-come, first-served when not reserved.

About

Aitch Picnic Shelter is a day-use recreation area located along the western side of Raystown Lake, approximately at its geographic center. The facility is easily accessible from US Route 26 near Marklesburg, Pennsylvania. It offers a group picnic shelter that comfortably accommodates up to 80 people, with approximately 10 tables and 20-amp electrical outlets. The recreation area provides excellent opportunities for fishing and boating. An accessible fishing pier takes advantage of the excellent aquatic habitat in this cove of the 8,300-acre lake. A boat ramp within the facility provides direct access to Raystown Lake. A volleyball court is located within 50 feet of the shelter. Vault restrooms are located about 75 yards from the shelter. There is no potable water at this facility, so visitors should bring their own. Dumpsters are available in adjacent parking lots. The shelter can be reserved through Recreation.gov or used on a first-come, first-served basis when not reserved. Note that parking is not guaranteed with a reservation and operates first-come, first-served in adjacent lots.

Directions

From Huntingdon, continue 10.5 miles southbound along Route 26 to Marklesburg. At Marklesburg, turn left onto Aitch Road (marked by sign). Aitch Road leads directly to the shelter location (0.8 miles).
