About

Susquehannock Campground occupies a scenic 25-acre peninsula on the western shore of Raystown Lake, Pennsylvania's largest lake at 8,300 acres. Named in honor of the last Native American tribe believed to have camped at nearby Sheep Rock Shelter, this primitive campground underwent major renovations from 2017-2021 and now offers over 60 newly-renovated campsites. The campground features a mix of standard and tent-only sites, with many positioned directly on the waterfront and others just a short walk from the water's edge. Each site includes level camping and parking pads, fire rings with grills, picnic tables, and lantern poles. Sites can accommodate pop-up campers but there are no RV hookups. Vault toilets are located throughout the campground, with hot showers available nearby at Seven Points Beach and coin-operated laundry at Seven Points Ridge loop. Potable water is available at a spigot near the entrance station. Susquehannock is the preferred campground for mountain bikers visiting Raystown Lake due to its proximity and easy access to the internationally-acclaimed 36-mile Allegrippis Trail System. The lake offers excellent fishing for muskies, striped bass, smallmouth and largemouth bass, brown trout, walleye, and crappie. Boating opportunities are extensive with no horsepower limits, making the lake ideal for water skiing, wakeboarding, pontoon cruising, and paddling. Nearby hiking trails include the 25-mile Terrace Mountain Trail, 3.5-mile Hillside Nature Trail, and 1-mile Old Loggers Trail. The area also offers disc golf, hunting for deer and turkey in season, and seasonal ranger-led educational programs.
