About

Canoe Creek State Park encompasses 958 acres of diverse habitat in central Pennsylvania, centered around a scenic 155-acre lake. The park features wetlands, old fields, and mature forests that provide critical habitat for migrating birds and other wildlife, making it a popular destination for nature enthusiasts throughout the year. The park offers eight modern cabins available for year-round rental, each sleeping six people and equipped with electric heat, two bedrooms, a living room, dining room, kitchen, and bathroom. Each cabin includes a fire ring and picnic table, and all are within walking distance of the swimming beach. During summer, cabins rent for one-week periods, while the rest of the year requires a minimum two-night stay. The lake is popular for year-round fishing, and boat mooring is available in the cabin area. Recreational opportunities include swimming at the sandy beach, hiking trails that wind through various habitats, disc golf, and exploring the historic limestone kilns that once supported Pennsylvania's steel industry. The park provides showers in the cabin area, restrooms, picnic areas, pavilions for rent, and seasonal food concessions. Located seven miles east of Hollidaysburg along US Route 22, the park offers convenient access to nearby attractions including the Allegheny Portage Railroad National Historic Site and the Lower Trail.
