About
Wapaloosie Horse Campground is a small, free equestrian-focused campground tucked into the Three Rivers Ranger District of Colville National Forest near the Kettle Crest. The campground features a circular drive layout with two pull-through sites specifically designed for trucks hauling horse trailers. Amenities include hitching posts, a hayfeeder, vault toilets, and access to a nearby creek for watering stock. The primary draw is access to the Wapaloosie Trail #15, a 2.7-mile trail connecting to the renowned 44.6-mile Kettle Crest National Scenic Trail. Riders can explore panoramic mountain views, abundant wildlife, wildflowers, and spectacular sunrises and sunsets. The area is also popular with hikers and mountain bikers. This is a primitive campground with no potable water, hookups, or trash service. Campers must bring their own water and pack out all trash. Campfires are permitted only in developed fire rings. Maximum stay is 14 consecutive days, and pets must be kept on leash.
Directions
From Kettle Falls, WA: Follow US Highway 395 to State Route 20. Follow SR 20 for 20 miles and turn right on Albian Hill Road 2030. Follow Road 2030 for 3.2 miles to the trailhead sign, then continue west 0.2 miles to the campground.
