About
Jungle Hill Horse Campground is a primitive equestrian campground in the Colville National Forest designed specifically for pack and saddle users. The campground serves as a staging area for the 44.6-mile Kettle Crest National Scenic Trail, one of Washington's premier backcountry horse trails traversing the Kettle River Range. The camping area is spacious with excellent privacy between sites, shaded by a mix of lodgepole pine, western larch, and Douglas fir. Vault toilets are provided, but there is no potable water on site; non-potable water can be obtained from a nearby creek and must be treated or filtered before use. Picnic tables and fire rings are available at campsites. This is a free, first-come, first-served campground with no advance reservations. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and maximum stay is limited to 14 days. Pets are welcome but must remain on leash. Campfires are permitted only in developed fire rings, and all food and wildlife attractants must be properly secured.
