Alcohol Prohibitions

This Order describes acts that are prohibited upon lands, roads and trails within the National Forest System administered by the Forest Service Pacific Northwest Region in regards to alcoholic beverages.

Aquatic Invasive Species

This Order prohibits 1) possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic invasive animal species AND 2) prohibits possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic or riparian invasive plant species - on National Forest System lands in the Pacific Northwest Region as specified in the Order.

Restrictions on Use of Forage and Mulch Products

This Order prohibits unloading, storing, or using any straw, hay, grain, seed, or other forage or mulch products that are not state-certified weed free on the National Forest System lands, roads or trails in any Closure Area as specific in the Order.

Food Storage Order: 06-21-00-21-02

The goal of this special order is to minimize the potential for bears and other wildlife to access human foods. Animals that have repeatedly obtained unsecured human foods can learn to associate the presence of humans with a food reward and begin to lose their natural fear of man.

Aquatic Invasive Species Order: 06-00-00-21-01

This order prohibits possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic invasive animal species on the national Forest System lands in the Pacific Northwest Region.

About

Jungle Hill Horse Campground is a free, spacious equestrian camping area located in the Colville National Forest near Sherman Pass Scenic Byway. Designed specifically for horse camping, the facility offers pack and saddle amenities and serves as a trailhead for the 44.6-mile Kettle Crest National Scenic Trail. The campground sits at high elevation accessed via a steep, winding gravel road. The camping area features a mixture of lodgepole pine, western larch, and Douglas fir providing shade and excellent privacy between campsites. Non-potable water can be obtained from a nearby creek a short distance from the campground and should be treated or filtered before use. Wildlife such as whitetail deer and moose frequent the area, offering opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography. The campground enforces quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., prohibits OHV use within the camping area, and requires pets to be leashed. Campfires are allowed only in developed fire rings, and fireworks are prohibited. Maximum stay is 14 days, and food must be properly stored at all times due to wildlife activity.

Directions

From Kettle Falls, follow U.S. Highway 395 south for 3.7 miles. Turn left onto WA-20 West and continue for 18.4 miles. Turn right onto Albin Hill Road and travel north on Forest Road 2030 for 0.6 miles to the trail sign, then west 0.2 miles to the campground. Note: Albin Hill Road is a steep, winding gravel road.
