About

Sherman Overlook Campground is a small, peaceful Forest Service campground located at Sherman Pass in Washington's Colville National Forest. The 9 tent/trailer sites offer varying degrees of privacy, making it a solid choice for campers seeking quiet in the Kettle Range. At this elevation, expect cool nights even in summer. The campground serves as a staging point for Kettle Crest hikers via the Sherman Pass Tie Trail #96. For those seeking a shorter outing, Sherman Overlook Trail #96.A is a paved, ADA-accessible interpretive trail offering views and educational signage about the local ecosystem. Basic amenities include vault toilets and potable water from a hand pump; campers should come prepared with their own supplies. Quiet hours run 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., pets must be leashed, and campfires are permitted only in established fire rings. The campground sees light usage, offering a more secluded experience compared to busier Colville NF sites. First-come, first-served with no advance reservations.
