About

Wallace Falls State Park Campground sits within a 4,735-acre park in the western Cascades near Gold Bar, Washington. The campground offers two walk-in tent sites available on a first-come, first-served basis, located near the parking area with good privacy. Each tent site has a picnic table and fire ring, with two restrooms with showers nearby. The park also features five reservable cabins that sleep up to five people each, equipped with covered porches, electricity, heating, bunk beds, and full-size futons. Two cabins are ADA-accessible and two allow pets. The park's main attraction is the three-tiered Wallace Falls, which drops 265 feet and can be reached via a well-maintained 2.8-mile trail suitable for most skill levels. Viewpoints at the lower, middle, and upper falls allow hikers to choose their adventure, with the middle viewpoint offering panoramic views of the Skykomish River Valley and Olympic Mountains. The park features 17 miles of hiking and biking trails, including the Greg Ball Trail that leads over four miles to Wallace and Jay lakes. Backcountry camping is available at these remote lakes for those seeking a more primitive experience, though a permit is required. The park is open year-round from 8:00 a.m. to dusk and requires a Washington State Discover Pass for day use. The campground provides drinking water, trash service, fire pits, and restrooms with showers. An interpretive trail offers education about the local ecosystem. The park can be very busy, with the parking lot typically full by 11 a.m. on weekends.
