About

Wallace Falls State Park sits in the western Cascade foothills near the town of Gold Bar, offering a forested retreat just 30 miles from Seattle. The campground features two walk-in tent sites available year-round on a first-come, first-served basis, as well as five reservable cabins that can each accommodate up to five guests. Cabins include electricity, bunk beds, futon couches, covered porches, and nearby restrooms with showers. Two cabins are ADA-accessible and two are pet-friendly. The park encompasses over 4,700 acres and features 17 miles of hiking and biking trails through old-growth forest. The main attraction is the Wallace Falls Trail, a 2.8-mile moderate hike that climbs through towering Douglas firs to three stunning viewpoints of the 265-foot Wallace Falls on the Wallace River. More adventurous visitors can obtain backcountry permits to camp at Jay Lake or Wallace Lake deeper in the park. A Discover Pass is required for vehicle access. The walk-in tent sites offer a primitive camping experience with fire rings and picnic tables, while the nearby restroom facilities provide modern amenities including flush toilets and showers. The park is open from 8 a.m. to dusk year-round, making it accessible for both summer and off-season camping.
