About
Walker River State Recreation Area's Pitchfork Ranch cabins provide comfortable lodging along the East Walker River in Lyon County, Nevada. The four cabins, named Prairie Falcon, Bald Eagle, Horned Owl, and Red Hawk, are situated approximately 1.5 miles past the main park entrance in their own private meadow setting with views of the river corridor. Each cabin accommodates up to six occupants across a bedroom, a bunk room with two twin bunkbeds, and a full-size sleeper sofa in the living room.
Every cabin features a covered front deck, dining area with table and chairs, and a full kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, and cooktop (no conventional oven). The bathroom includes a walk-in shower, toilet, and sink. Heating and air conditioning keep the cabins comfortable year-round. Guests must bring their own linens, towels, and bedding as none are provided.
The Pitchfork Ranch serves as the main developed area of this state recreation area, offering access to 7 miles of the East Walker River and nature trails. The historic century-old ranch property provides an authentic Western Nevada experience with fishing, hiking, and wildlife viewing opportunities.
Directions
