About

River Bend Campground occupies a prime location at the century-old Pitchfork Ranch, which serves as the headquarters for Walker River State Recreation Area. The campground offers 16 established sites that accommodate tents, travel trailers, and motorhomes, with each site featuring a picnic table, fire ring, and shade ramada for comfort in the high desert climate. The campground is accessed via a four-mile graded dirt road that is passable for RVs when driven at reasonable speeds. Restrooms with showers are available nearby, along with an RV dump station. While River Bend does not offer utility hookups, the adjacent Quail Run Campground provides sites with water and electric connections for those requiring them. The surrounding area provides access to 7 miles of the celebrated East Walker River, known for its fishing opportunities. The open landscape of sagebrush and riverbanks creates a quintessential Great Basin camping experience. A 14-day camping limit within any 30-day period is enforced.
