About
Desert Creek Campground is a remote, primitive camping area in Nevada's Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, managed by the Bridgeport Ranger District. Situated along Desert Creek at an elevation where Jeffrey and Lodgepole pines provide partial shade, the campground offers a true backcountry experience with no fees, no developed facilities, and no services.
The creek is stocked with rainbow, brown, and brook trout, making this a worthwhile destination for anglers willing to venture off the beaten path. OHV and ATV users will find miles of backroads to explore in the surrounding area. Hiking and horseback riding are also popular activities.
Campers must be fully self-sufficient: bring all water, pack out all trash, and come prepared for primitive conditions. The access road includes creek crossings that are not recommended during high water in early season or low clearance in late season, though four-wheel drive is not required under normal conditions.
