About
Vista Linda Campground occupies a scenic basin in San Diego Canyon, south of Jemez Springs on the Santa Fe National Forest. The setting combines dramatic redrock and sandstone mesas with a lush cottonwood bosque along the Jemez River. The 13 campsites offer excellent stargazing on clear nights and direct fishing access to the river, which is best during winter months. The campground accommodates both tent campers and RVers, with sites handling rigs up to 40 feet and pull-through capability available. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and charcoal pedestal grill. Potable water is available at spigots for filling containers, though there are no hookups or dump station. Vault toilets are provided. Vista Linda serves as a base for exploring the broader Jemez National Recreation Area, with numerous day-use sites, fishing accesses, and trailheads nearby along the NM-4 corridor. Valles Caldera National Preserve and Bandelier National Monument are short drives away, and Santa Fe is about two hours distant.
Directions
From the Jemez Ranger Station, go 5.6 miles south on State Highway 4.
