About

Fenton Lake State Park sits at 7,900 feet elevation in the Jemez Mountains, 33 miles north of San Ysidro. The campground offers 37 developed sites nestled among beautiful ponderosa pine forests, with 5 sites featuring electric hookups and RV pull-through sites available. The 37-acre lake, fed by the Rio Cebolla, is stocked with rainbow trout and provides excellent fishing opportunities, particularly during migratory waterfowl season. The park caters to a variety of outdoor activities year-round. Summer visitors enjoy camping, fishing, canoeing, and hiking, while winter brings cross-country skiing enthusiasts. Facilities include vault toilets, an RV dump station, boat ramps, fire rings, picnic tables, and a playground. The surrounding national forest provides additional opportunities for horseback riding and wildlife viewing. The campground accommodates RVs up to 60 feet in the electric sites and up to 50 feet in some non-electric sites. Fires are only allowed in provided grills and fire rings within developed camping areas. The park maintains modern restrooms in addition to vault toilets, and there is a park office on-site for visitor assistance.
