The campground is open for the 2026 season. Water systems are not yet operational due to freezing nighttime temperatures; campers must bring sufficient drinking water. Water will be turned on when weather permits.

Jemez Falls Campground is located in a stunning Ponderosa Pine and forest meadow environment at 7,880 feet elevation in the Santa Fe National Forest. The East Fork Jemez Wild and Scenic River runs close to the campground, providing excellent fishing opportunities. The campground features 52 campsites spread across four loops, each with a picnic table and fire ring. Paved roads accommodate RVs and trailers up to 40 feet. Jemez Falls, the largest waterfall in the Jemez Mountains, is accessible via a half-mile hike from the campground. Other recreational activities include hiking, outdoor photography, and nature viewing. Loop 4 is designated as a non-generator area, while Loops 1-3 permit generator use from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The campground operates seasonally from May through November. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov, with check-in at 1:00 PM and checkout at 11:00 AM. Quiet hours are observed from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The Valles Caldera National Preserve and Bandelier National Monument are nearby along the Jemez Mountain Trail National Scenic Byway.

Directions

From Albuquerque, take Interstate 25 north for 12 miles, exit onto NM State Highway 550 northwest for approximately 20 miles, then exit onto NM Highway 4. The campground is accessed off NM Highway 4, approximately 15 miles northeast of Jemez Springs.
