About
Jemez Falls Campground offers 52 developed campsites in a stunning Ponderosa pine and forest meadow environment within the Jemez National Recreation Area. Located at 7,880 feet elevation along the East Fork Jemez River, the campground provides a cool mountain retreat with warm summer days and cooler evenings. Paved roads throughout accommodate trailers and RVs up to 40 feet. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring, with drinking water available from spigots and vault toilets throughout the facility. The campground is divided into four loops, with Loops 1-3 allowing generator use from 6 AM to 10 PM and Loop 4 designated as a non-generator area. Quiet hours are 10 PM to 7 PM. A campground host is on duty during the operating season. The marquee attraction is Jemez Falls, the largest waterfall in the Jemez Mountains, accessible via a half-mile hike from the campground. Valles Caldera National Preserve and Bandelier National Monument are within a short driving distance. The area supports fishing in the East Fork Jemez River, hiking, wildlife viewing, and outdoor photography.
