About
Redondo Campground is situated within a mixed stand of ponderosa pine interspersed with grass and wildflower meadows in the Jemez National Recreation Area. At 8,200 feet elevation, expect warm days and cool nights throughout the camping season. The campground contains 62 sites, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. Sites 2-27 can accommodate RVs and trailers up to 30 feet, while sites 28-62 are designated tent-only. Vault toilets are located throughout the campground, but campers must bring their own drinking water as none is available on-site. There are no utility hookups or dump station. Dogs are permitted but must remain leashed at all times within the campground. The campground is accessed via the Jemez Mountains Trail National Scenic Byway (NM Highway 4) and is within driving distance of the Valles Caldera National Preserve and Bandelier National Monument. Nearby attractions include the San Diego Overlook scenic site and access points to Trail 137. Quiet hours are observed from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
Directions
From the Jemez Ranger Station, go south 7.5 miles to the junction of State Highway 4 and 126 at La Cueva. Turn right and continue on State Road 4 approximately 2 miles to the campground turnoff on the left.
