About
Virgil Point Campground sits in a forested setting along the shores of Hugo Lake, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The campground offers 51 spacious, modern campsites with paved driveways accommodating trailers up to 45 feet. All sites feature electric hookups (30 and 50 amp service) and water hookups, along with picnic tables and fire rings. Facilities include a comfort station with flush toilets and showers, an on-site dump station, and potable water. Recreation options abound with a swimming beach and boat ramp on site. Hugo Lake is known for excellent fishing including crappie, bass, and catfish, with the northern portion featuring flooded timber ideal for anglers. The surrounding area offers over 25,000 acres of public land for hunting and wildlife viewing. Nearby historical attractions include Native American cultural centers, Civil War sites, and historic churches and schools.
Directions
From Hugo, OK, take Highway 70 east for 10 miles, then turn north onto Highway 147. Continue for 2 miles and follow the posted signs to the campground.
