About
Hugo Lake Group Camp occupies a prime location along the wooded banks of Hugo Lake in Choctaw County, Oklahoma. Administered by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this group camping facility is designed for large parties, youth groups, and family gatherings. The campground contains four group sites, each equipped with a spacious 30' x 50' covered picnic shelter, electric hookups for 4-5 campers, grills, and picnic tables. The facility includes a combination waterborne shower and restroom building, a centrally located playground, and direct access to a swimming beach. Hugo Lake itself spans over 13,000 acres and provides outstanding recreational opportunities including catfishing, bass fishing, crappie fishing, and hunting on the surrounding 25,000+ acres of wildlife management land. Reservations are made through Recreation.gov. Note that running water is currently not available at this facility, so campers should bring their own drinking water. The campground is located near Sawyer, Oklahoma, accessed via Highway 147.
Directions
From Sawyer, OK, take Highway 147 north for nearly 4 miles, follow posted signs, and stay with the paved road to the campground.
