About

Kiamichi Park Campground is a large, forested campground operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the southern shores of Hugo Lake in Choctaw County, Oklahoma. The campground features 85 spacious campsites spread across multiple loops, with 83 sites offering electric hookups and two non-electric sites available. A dedicated group camping loop includes 11 sites plus a shelter with tables and grills, making it ideal for youth trips, family gatherings, or large group events. The park caters to equestrian enthusiasts with specialized horse camping facilities on Raccoon Road, featuring 13 horse stalls and access to trails suitable for horseback riding. Additional amenities include two large day-use picnic shelters available for reservation, a swimming beach, playground, and miles of paved roads perfect for biking, jogging, and sightseeing. Wooded trails throughout the park provide opportunities for hiking and wildlife observation. Hugo Lake, created by a dam on the Kiamichi River completed in 1974, is renowned for its diverse fishing opportunities. Anglers can target sand bass and slab crappie in early season, largemouth bass throughout the year, and catfish during summer months. The area encompasses over 25,000 acres available for hunting, including a 3,000-acre Quality Deer Management Area. Bow hunting is permitted in most park areas, and the campground features an archery practice range. Wildlife viewing opportunities include waterfowl, bobwhite quail, dove, whitetail deer, mink, fox, and beaver. The campground enforces a 14-day camping limit.
