Little River Park

Closed — Closed for the winter season. The campground typically operates from March through October.

About

Little River Park is located on the shores of Pine Creek Lake in the southeast corner of Oklahoma, at the edge of the Ouachita Mountains. The campground offers 55 campsites divided between 30 RV sites with either 30 or 50 amp electric service (some with full hookups including water and sewer) and 25 primitive tent sites without utilities. The park is surrounded by hardwood and pine forests along the lake's shoreline. Recreational opportunities are plentiful at Little River Park. The campground features a designated swimming beach for hot summer days, and a hiking trail is accessible directly from the camping area. The lake itself spans 3,750 acres with 74 miles of scenic shoreline, providing excellent opportunities for fishing, boating, and canoeing. Popular fish species include bass and various panfish. The setting combines forested mountain landscapes with waterfront access. The park is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and operates seasonally, typically from March through October. Nearby attractions include Beavers Bend State Park, Raymond Gary State Park, and the historic ruins of Fort Towson, a Confederate command post built in 1824. The lake was constructed in the late 1960s for flood control along the Little River Basin and has since become a popular recreation destination in McCurtain County.
