About
Veterans Lake Pavilion is a scenic day-use facility located in the Platt Historic District of Chickasaw National Recreation Area, approximately 5-7 minutes from Sulphur, Oklahoma. This pavilion rental provides an ideal space for hosting outdoor events, birthday parties, and family gatherings in a beautiful lakeside setting. The pavilion is situated near Veterans Lake, a 67-acre reservoir where visitors can swim, fish, and paddle. The paved Veterans Trail loops around the lake, making it stroller and wheelchair-friendly. A fishing dock and exercise area are located nearby and are available for use by pavilion renters, though these areas remain open to the public. The nearby bison pasture offers additional recreational opportunities for viewing wildlife. Chickasaw National Recreation Area sits at the convergence of the eastern deciduous forest and the mixed-grass prairie ecosystems, creating unique geological formations and diverse plant and animal habitats. The Travertine Nature Center and historic mineral springs, including Pavilion Springs, Black Sulphur Springs, and Hillside Springs, are worth visiting nearby.
