About
The Point Campground is situated in the scenic Arbuckle Mountains at Lake of the Arbuckles within Chickasaw National Recreation Area. This year-round, family-friendly campground offers 55 campsites divided into two loops: the Upper Loop with 17 reservable sites and the Lower Loop with 38 first-come, first-served sites. The campground provides a mix of camping experiences, from electric sites with water hookups to tent-only and walk-to sites, making it suitable for RVers and tent campers alike.
The campground is well-equipped with modern amenities. The Lower Loop features flush toilets, sinks, and hot showers available year-round, while the Upper Loop has pit toilets. A dump station is conveniently located less than a mile from the campgrounds. Each campsite includes a fire ring and picnic table, and campers are permitted to gather dead and downed wood. Water is available throughout the campground, and a camp host is on-site.
Located on the shores of Lake of the Arbuckles, The Point offers excellent recreational opportunities. The nearby boat launch provides easy access for boating, jet skiing, and fishing for bass, catfish, and crappie. The relaxed setting in the Crosstimbers region, where western plains meet eastern forests, provides abundant wildlife viewing and birding opportunities. Bicycling along scenic roads offers beautiful lake views. The campground is close to other park attractions including Little Niagara swimming area and the Travertine Nature Center.
