About
Rock Creek Campground is located within Chickasaw National Recreation Area along Rock Creek and near Veterans Lake. This wooded campground sits in mature oak and hickory forests and provides primitive camping opportunities for tent campers and small travel trailers. The campground features 99 first-come, first-served sites that accommodate up to 8 people each, plus one reservable group site that holds up to 30 people. Standard sites are $14 per night and the group site is $30 per night.
The campground is equipped with two restroom buildings featuring flush toilets and sinks, but no showers are available. A seasonal dump station and potable water are provided. A camp host is typically on site during the operating season. The campground offers convenient access to Veterans Lake for fishing, swimming, boating, and a hiking trail that wraps around the lake. Cold spring-fed waterfalls and beautiful geologic formations are abundant in this historic area of the park.
Rock Creek Campground operates seasonally and has limited summer hours compared to other campgrounds in the recreation area. Check-in is at 2:30 PM and check-out is at 2:00 PM. Cell phone coverage is spotty, so visitors should plan accordingly. Fires are only allowed in provided rings, and stoves and grills may be used within campsite boundaries.
