About
Buckhorn Campground Loop D sits in the rolling Arbuckle Mountains within Chickasaw National Recreation Area, where the western plains transition into eastern Crosstimbers forests. The campground provides direct access to Lake of the Arbuckles for boating and fishing, and is near both the Buckhorn Boat Launch and the southern trailhead for the Rock Creek Multi-Use Trail. The loop contains 51 campsites operating on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations accepted. Twenty-four sites offer 30-amp electric and water hookups, while the remaining sites are non-utility. Modern restroom facilities include flush toilets and hot showers. A dump station is available on Buckhorn Road just outside the campground. No sewer hookups are available at any site. Campfires are permitted only in the provided fire rings, and campers may gather dead and downed wood. Pets are allowed but must be kept on a leash no longer than six feet. Payment is by credit or debit card only; cash is not accepted.
