Loop Campground

Closed — Closed for the season. Typically operates late May through mid-October, weather permitting. Snow usually closes the canyon from November to mid-June.

About

Loop Campground is located in South Willow Canyon at 7,400 feet elevation in the Stansbury Range, 4.5 miles up a gravel road from the Forest boundary. The campground offers 12 single sites and 1 double site nestled in a remote desert canyon forested with oak, maple, and juniper trees that provide partial shade. Willow Creek runs alongside the sites, offering rainbow and brown trout fishing. The multi-use Stansbury Front Trail and Medina Flat Trail begin across the road from the entrance, providing access to the rugged Deseret Peak Wilderness for hikers and mountain bikers. South Willow Canyon Road is a scenic drive that winds through interesting narrows, though the gravel road is steep and narrow in sections, making it unsuitable for RVs and large trailers. The campground operates on a 7-day stay limit and is reservable through Recreation.gov. Sites include basic amenities with vault toilets available during the operating season. Campers must bring their own water as none is available on-site. Snow can usually be found on the upper part of the canyon from November to mid-June.
