About

Upper Chiquito Campground offers a rustic camping experience on the east fork of Chiquito Creek, tucked into the higher elevations of Sierra National Forest's Bass Lake Ranger District. The campground sees light use, making it an excellent choice for campers seeking solitude away from the busier Bass Lake area. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. This is a primitive campground with vault toilets and garbage service at the entrance, but no potable water. Campers should arrive self-sufficient with their own water supply. The maximum vehicle length is 20 feet, limiting this campground to tents, truck campers, and smaller trailers. Groups are limited to 6 people per site with a maximum stay of 14 days. Access is via Beasore Road (5S07), a winding mountain road that typically remains snow-covered into early summer. The campground operates seasonally from July through October, weather permitting.

Directions

From Fresno, take Highway 41 north through Oakhurst to Road 222. Turn right on Road 222 and travel approximately 5 miles to Beasore Road. Turn left and continue north on Beasore Road (5S07) for approximately 15 miles, then turn left at the sign to the campground.
